states for more than 60 years, United Plywoods and
Lumber, Inc. is a distributor of modern building products.
As the supplier of many well-known products, we welcome
you to visit this site regarding information on our
company, our products and services, and the various
vendors we represent.
United Plywoods Corporation was established in 1944
by A.D. "RED" Burdette as a supplier of
plywood products. Twenty years later the company was
passed on to Mark Burdette and shortly afterwards
United Lumber Products was created. The primary focus
of this second company was to add newer products to
the market. They were primarily involved in selling
pine patterns, hardwood lumber, Redwood, Cypress along
with a few other products.
Both company's were very successful and merged in
1985 to form what is now United Plywoods and Lumber,
Inc. United has four locations, namely Decatur, Montgomery, Mobile
and the home office in Birmingham, AL. With the four
locations, United has proven more than capable of
service from Southern Tennessee down to the Florida
Panhandle.
Mark Burdette is now retired and John Mims is the
new President. John has been with the company for
over 25 years. His responsibilities have ranged from
working in the warehouse to management, sales rep,
vice president/sales, to President and CEO.
United Plywoods and Lumber, Inc. history of service
